Certificates, Investments, and IRAs

Earn more for your money - invest in a certificate or IRA!
They are designed to fit your long and short-term needs.

Certificate Account (Fixed Rate)

This account is designed for the member who wishes to lock into a rate for the term they choose. It offers the following:

  • Convenient Terms - 3, 6, 12, 24, 36 or 48 months.
  • Minimum Balance - $500 ($100-$499.99 certificates available at the 3 month rate.)
  • High rates - varies according to term and balance.
  • Additional Deposits - available in minimum amounts of $12 with payroll deduction or direct deposit.
  • Jump Rate Coupon - The rate can be adjusted once during your term on a fixed rate certificate. Maximum change in a rate shall be 50 basis points for certificates with terms up to 23 months and 100 basis points for terms 24 months or greater.
  • Certificate Loan - Use the certificate as security/collateral for a loan. The interest rate on this type of loan is 3.5% a.p.r. above the certificate rate, rounded to the next highest 1/2% a.p.r.

Certificate Account (Variable Rate)

This certificate moves with the market and is a great way to take advantage of an upward rate cycle. Features include:

  • Term - 18 Months.
  • Minimum Balance - $1,000.
  • Rate - Adjusted up or down with the market. It is indexed to the one year Treasury Bill rate as listed in the Wall Street Journal and is adjusted the first day of each month. The rate is adjusted according to the amount you invest.
  • Additional Deposits - $500.

Daily Action Investment Account

This is a special type of high yield checking account that is competitive with today's money market funds.

  • Term - daily.
  • Minimum Balance - $2,000.
  • Rate - varies according to balance (different rate with a minimum of $2,000 and $25,000).
  • Additional Deposits - no minimum.
  • Minimum Withdrawal - $500.
  • Account Access - by check or over the counter.

Individual Retirement Accounts

There are two types of IRA plans at your Credit Union: IRA Share Certificate or IRA Master Account.

You can choose from the Traditional, Educational and Roth IRAs. An IRA works for you in two ways: It shelters income from taxes (for qualified individuals) while helping you save for retirement.

IRA Share Certificate

  • Term - 12, 24, 36 or 48 month fixed rate or you can choose an 18 month variable rate.
  • Minimum Balance - $500 for fixed rate and $1,000 for variable rate certificates.
  • Rate - varies according to term and balance.

IRA Master Account

  • Term - daily.
  • Minimum Balance - $50.
  • Rate - determined weekly and changed monthly.
  • Additional Deposits - minimum of $25 over the counter, by payroll deduction, or by direct deposit.
